Elektron 43 (WE43C) is an aerospace grade magnesium alloy that benefits from good corrosion and flammability resistance. The mechanical properties exceed those of all other magnesium sheet and plate materials, which enables it to provide weight saving opportunities in engineering applications, which traditionally implies high strength aluminum alloys. Elektron 43, further defined by the SAE specification AMS4371 Rev. B, is contained in the Metallic Materials Properties Development and Standardization handbook.
